Circular Biobased Construction Study
In 2021, the Net Zero Hub supported York and North Yorkshire LEP to commission a study of the opportunities for circular biobased construction in the Hub region. If leveraged correctly, this sector could provide a leading role in effective decarbonisation of the built environment within the UK. The final report can be read below:

Domestic Retrofit Skills Assessment
In 2021, the Net Zero Hub supported the North East LEP to commission a piece of research analysing the future demand for skilled labour set to be generated by housing retrofit needs. The scale of economic benefits estimated from this are vast, with around 80,000 skilled workers estimated to be needed by 2030 to supply the Hub region. The full findings can be accessed here.
