DEI’s headline remit since its inception in 2009 has been ‘Energy, Science and Society’.
DEI is a world leader on interdisciplinary research across the sciences, social sciences, humanities and engineering and was one of the first truly interdisciplinary energy research institutes in the UK.
This symposium celebrates twelve years of DEI bringing people together and thinking differently about energy. It will showcase current research in the areas of Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as the institute’s partnerships, showing how the research has provided further opportunities in the region and the wider sector.
We are also holding our regular 3MT competition which is being judged by Durham University’s Vice Provost Research, Professor Colin Bain and this year there will be a poster competition for energy researchers at Durham which will be judged by Professor Jacqui Ramagge, Executive Dean, Science Faculty.
