Solution providers, experts and communities will come together to showcase some of the progress towards net zero in rural Northumberland, and understand how to increase their impact. The event will demonstrate what communities can do when they come together, as well as providing an update on the Northumberland Energy Co-Operative developing to provide PV and battery storage for community buildings.
Experts will be discussing the steps to plan, design and implement renewable energy solutions, plan EV charging infrastructure, and discuss sustainable transport opportunities.
Guest speakers will cover areas such as Northumberland County Council’s Climate Change Action Plan, the lessons learned from installing electric vehicle charging infrastructure across rural counties and strategic plans for tackling congestion and emissions caused by tourism hotspots in the morning.
In the afternoon we will hear from both specialist consultants and community leaders, to learn more about the huge potential for Northumberland that can come from community renewable energy, as well as practical advise for planning and delivering projects.
