The Trees on Tees Woodland Creation Partnership is a partnership of the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority and its constituent local authority partners, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.
In the morning session the Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, will launch the new programme and there will be sessions aimed at explaining the benefits to the business community of tree planting and woodland creation, and information about how to go about this.
The afternoon session will be a more in-depth practical workshop advising land owners and managers of how to obtain the relevant grants and support required to carry out tree planting.
Speakers will be drawn from across business, industry, farming, forestry, carbon offsetting and the environmental sector and will include representatives of Forestry Commission, AngloAmerican, the National Farmers Union, the Woodland Trust, Forest Carbon, the Environment Agency, the Tees Valley Local Nature Partnership, Local Authorities and The Tees Rivers Trust.
Buffet lunch is provided. Should you have any allergies or special requirements please email sarah.wright@forestrycommission.gov.uk.
The Trees on Tees Partnership is funded by the Government’s Forestry Commission Woodland Creation Acceleration Fund and is supported by the Northeast and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub.
