Hub welcomes new project manager for York and North Yorkshire
Karen Rossell has joined the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub as a Regional Project Manager. Karen is the Hub funded local capacity support for York & North Yorkshire, working on fundable and investable clean heat and energy projects across the City of York and North Yorkshire.
She has a background in Chemistry and Carbon Management, working in academia to develop projects related to atmospheric modelling, radiative forcing, adaptation and smart cities. She also has extensive experience in consultancy and think tanks, where she developed projects focused on carbon removal, mitigation and blockchain, and supported governmental bodies, institutions and businesses.
In this role, Karen will work with public sector organisations, their stakeholders and communities to develop impactful net-zero projects with scalability potential that support the local strategic ambitions within the York and North Yorkshire region. She has a particular interest in innovation for climate change mitigation and carbon sequestration, natural capital, and circular economy.
Karen is one of six Hub-funded Regional Project Managers, who work within our Combined Authority partners to provide on the ground support to their Local Authorities and establish net zero projects in their area.
