Hull and East Yorkshire Local Area Energy Plan takes next step forward

Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council have appointed a contactor to develop a Hull & East Riding Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP).

Local Area Energy Plans are data-driven assessments of future energy need within a geographic area, alongside recommendations of the most effective ways to meet that demand. They can also be the first step in developing a pipeline of commercially investible local projects.

This LAEP, which will be developed by City Science, is being supported by the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub local capacity support and is designed to back Hull’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2040, as well as East Riding’s goal of reaching net zero by 2050.
