North East and Yorkshire community energy projects recognised at national awards
Community energy groups from the North East and Yorkshire are celebrating success at a national awards ceremony.
East Durham Community Development Trust and Energise Barnsley – both of which are being supported by the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub – were successful in categories at the Community Energy Awards 2024.
Energise Barnsley scooped the Fuel Poverty Action Award, which celebrates the contributions of local organisations in addressing the challenges of fuel poverty and energy efficiency.
East Durham Community Development Trust won the prize for Community Engagement and Inclusion.
City of York Council was also Highly Commended in the Supportive Local Authority Award.
